As an educator and yoga teacher, my mission is to facilitate growth and change in our communities through yoga & mindfulness practices, healthy relationship building, and restorative justice practices. Having taught in a variety of public and private educational settings over the past 15 years, I’ve worked with thousands of students, ages 4-18, their parents/guardians, and myriad staff and education professionals. The thing I’ve learned everyone wants and needs is to be heard, to be seen, to be valued. My mission is to empower youth to find their voice and their value, and work together with others in their communities to bring about positive changes in their schools, neighborhoods, and homes.

You might find me in a public school classroom, teaching the history of ancient civilizations to middle schoolers or literature to high schoolers. You might find me in an elementary classroom facilitating mindfulness exercises and helping teachers identify best practices for brain-breaks and effective social-emotional learning tools. You may find me in a juvenile detention center facilitating writing workshops for incarcerated youth. Any given afternoon of the week, I’m likely in a yoga studio or a school’s multi-purpose room teaching a youth yoga class.

In addition to working with youth in diverse settings, I am also passionate about providing education for the adults that work closely with youth on a daily basis. I offer professional development to educators who want to implement yoga and mindfulness practices in their classrooms. I also train certified yoga teachers to work specifically with children and adolescents by offering a 95-hour RCYT program that is certified through Yoga Alliance.

If you are an administrator or educator looking to implement yoga, mindfulness, or social-emotional learning programs in your school or facility, we should probably connect! If you are a parent who wants these kinds of programs in your child’s school, we should probably connect! If you currently work with youth and want to add more to your toolkit that will help you empower them and positively transform your community, we should definitely connect!
