About

Our home kitchen is free of gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, almonds, peanuts, quinoa, and cranberries. When we got the results of extensive allergy testing and found out that many of our food staples were now on our “forbidden list”, I began researching and testing recipes like crazy. It is my hope that this blog will be a source of inspiration and encouragement to those of you who are searching for some allergen free alternatives to add to your food repertoire. I have shifted the focus of this blog from photography (my former business) to food, as that is what I spend most of my time talking with friends and family about anyway! Many of those friends and family members have requested that I share my resources and recipes, so I figured this was the best place to do it.

On occasion I will still accept a few photography commissions. If you are interested in my photo work, you can keep reading…

My exploration of photography began when I was a child, using my mom’s 35mm. She taught me the importance of photographs and archiving special moments and memories. I have always loved using my camera to see beautiful everyday things in new perspective. My first solo travel experiences really got me hooked on photography as art. The birth of my first son pushed me to explore portraiture. When my second son was born, I found I had my camera in hand so often that it only made sense to turn my “hobby” into a full time venture. I had been teaching up until that point and loved working with kids of all ages. I was thrilled to be able to find a way to play with kids (instead of assign them homework) and capture their beautiful expressions for their parents in photographs they would cherish for a lifetime.

I aim to capture the creativity and expression of each family in environments most comfortable and cherished to them. When I’m not having a blast photographing other people’s children, I’m loving each moment with my own two ridiculously adorable boys and the love of my life. A family goal of ours is to find the most amazing locations around northern California and then take you all there for portrait sessions. So we spend a lot of time adventuring around, putting lots of miles on our car, and creating some great memories.

I am proud to be associated with the following organizations:

Moment by Moment is a foundation that is very close to my heart. Through MbyM, photographers are able to provide complimentary portrait sessions and cherished images for families of children who have life-limiting illnesses. We strive to capture images that show the hope & love of family and the strength of the remarkable children we serve. CBP clients have helped to provide sessions to many families since 2008. Thank you! If you would like to learn more about the foundation or make a donation, please click on the MbyM logo.
